During this unit we inquire into the many inequalities that still exist in our world. So far children looked at what inequality means through the lenses of the key concepts as well as listen to and watch some stories of people's struggles due to different inequalities.
Next we are going to look at what inequalities might look like and what impact it has on social mobility. Social mobility is a person's ability to move up the social ladder through having access to different opportunities like education, health and many more.
For the summative task, children will work in small groups to create a visual petition to raise awareness of their chosen inequality. A group might choose gender inequality. After they have made their decision, they will do some research into the form, function, causation and connection of the inequality and present their findings in the form of a petition with visual stimulus to improve its effectiveness.

Language |
For language the children will write a fiction book about a person that makes their way up the social ladder. They have already created a character that is struggling due to lack of opportunities. Then certain opportunities cross their path and they move up the ladder. We will be using the Book Creator App for this project.
Math
During Math we will continue to solidify our understanding of fractions and decimal numbers.
